So here’s how you mint your NFT art in Canada ?? in 5️⃣ steps:
1️⃣ Create your artwork : mines are hand-drawn animated gifs inspired by cartoons I used to watch as a kid. In this case The #thundercats . I drew these on my #ipad using the @procreate app.
2️⃣ Select an NFT Marketplace. There are many you could choose from, but I chose @opensea and to mint on the #ethereum blockchain.
3️⃣ Create a crypto-wallet. I chose #Metamask, and then I connected that to the Opensea marketplace.
4️⃣ Upload your artwork to the marketplace. I created a collection called “ThunderCats NFT” to house all 14 of my animated avatars.
5️⃣ Finally list your NFTs for Sale. This is what it means to “mint” an NFT ie. the process of turning a digital file into a crypto collectible or digital asset on the Ethereum blockchain. To do this, Opensea charges a “gas-fee”. At the time I minted, the gas-fee was 0.09ETH (CAD $297). I used @netcoins to fund my Metamask wallet (since by TD Visa Card did not allow me to buy any Crypto). Netcoins is a third party vendor here in Canada that enables you to buy & sell crypto-currency but using interac e-money transfer. Once the ETH was received, I transferred it to my Metamask wallet, and minted my NFTs.
? Congratulations – you are now a bonified NFT artist!
